Brooke Raynsford

MSW, RSW

Hello! My name is Brooke and I am a Clinical Psychotherapy Associate at Dorset Pier Mental Health. I appreciate you taking a couple minutes to get to know me.  I was born and raised in Collingwood, ON and relocated to Thunder Bay in 2016 to attend Lakehead University. I now call Thunder Bay my home and I can’t imagine being anywhere else!

Since beginning my social work education, I have worked in a variety of settings such as community mental health, corrections, street outreach, and harm reduction. Much of my experience has been in case management. Since starting here at Dorset Pier, I have been trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy (TF-CBT) Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am most passionate about grief and trauma work.

I believe in creating non-judgemental spaces and building genuine connections that allow people to explore and discover new things about themselves and the world. As a person who lives with anxiety and member and ally of the LGBTQ+ community, I appreciate how challenging it can be to seek support. My goal will always be to create a safe and positive environment where we can collaborate and learn together. As a lifelong animal lover, I am passionate about the healing impact animals can have and I encourage you to book a session with Harlow, Poppy or Simon. Outside the office, I can be found hanging out at the barn with my horses, hiking near a river, or curling up with a good book.

I am so excited to meet and work with you!
